Laguna Beach, California Speed Traps
State Highway Pacific Coast near Laguna Canyon Road
The officers in Laguna are all trained with Laser speed guns. I have a radar detector and never knew what hit me. I’ll take the freeway!
US Highway Pacific Coast near snack shack
inbetween that new crystal court shopping center and corona del mar there’s a little snack shack that the cops like to hang out at. they wait on bikes at the top of the hill, so watch your downhill speed
US Highway Pacific Coast near Entrance to Emerald Bay
Be ready when you’re coming from newport/corona del mar into laguna, they’ve got me twice right next to the main entrance to emerald bay
Bluebird Canyon Road near Cress Street
I generally see people pulled over every Saturday morning coming down Bluebird Canyon just before you get to Bluebird Park. It’s posted at 25 MPH but very easy to go faster without noticing. I actually got nailed once, but was let off w/a warning.
Laguna Canyon Road S/B @ Canyon Acres
NOTE: City of Laguna Beach throughout uses K1 Band radar w/ low penetration – fast dissapation. If your detector is set for city, you will be in for a suprise, even with a Cobra(r) detector. Set detector for highway K-on! 90% of Patrol units are radar and video equipted.DESC DETAIL: Limit drops from 45 to 35 to 25, but lanes go from one to two. Most folks speed up when they should be slowing down. Conditions of citing are if you exceed 55 after Canyon Acres or maintain or exceed 45 after posted 35 or maintain or exceed 35 after posted 25. Double coverage is not uncommon during late summer, early fall, On holidays they will be clocking you coming into town. It is no wonder as the crosswalk to the Art Festivals has been named one of the many crosswalks of death in Laguna Beach.
