Laguna Woods, California Speed Traps

The traffic light is very fast, with no caution, goes from green to red, you have not time to stop, camera gets you.

Southbound from Gate 1 on block 7 there are "Laguna Security" hiding between the Clubhouse 3 building and the Bus Stop with radar guns pointed at the oncoming traffic. This is a slight hill and is a 25 mph area, however, they seem to target Non Resident Traffic. If there are several cars and one does not have the Laguna Woods Logo Sticker on the front window, you will see the very young Security point out the car they want to attack with the so called radar report. However, if there are more than 2 cars the radar cannot detect which car it is reporting on. This is an ongoing problem and many of the residents are complaining that their loved ones are being targeted as a means of revenue for the gated community. A civil law suit may be in the works!

Not so much a speeding trap, as just a trap. It is a traffic photo intersection with the timing set to the minimum. You can observe the camera flashes going off constantly, as they "catch" unwary drivers.

Officer is situated in parking lot of Church, waiting for speeders or red light runners.

I have gotten 2 tickets in a three month period of time from the same officer on this street. One was for going 54 in a 45. This is a revenue source for the city. If you can avoid Laguna Woods and take your business elsewhere, do it.
