Highway 50, about 2 miles southwest of the South Lake Tahoe casino area heading toward Reno.

(Watch for them mainly parked beside the fire station across from the Zephyr Cove Marina and Lodge. (This is a well-traveled road between Reno and the South Lake Tahoe Casino/Business District.) They will saturate the area during the early to mid-daytime ensnaring unwary vacationers (and, in my case, locals). Their favorite spot is the fire station in Zephyr Cove but they can be anywhere between Cave Rock and the casinos. The speed limit is 45 miles per hour but many "unenlightened" individuals could safely take it to 55 or more. The speed limit also diminishes to 35 then 25 before it gets into casinos.

CHP vehicle sits on south bound side of highway 89 looking for north bound traffic. Posted speed limit is 35 mph but this is straight highway and everybody goes 40-50 mph until you hit windy portion of highway around the lake, then the 35 mph makes sense. CHP hits you with radar and makes U turn after you.
