US 395 within the city limits of Lee Vining

As I sat on the patio of a restaurant overlooking US 395 today, I witnessed 5 seperate vehicles being pulled over and given citations by Mono County sheriff’s suv’s during the time it took me to eat lunch. The speed limit within the city limits is 30 mph, and I would suggest that you not exceed that limit if you find yourself in Lee Vining. This is the most blatant and aggresive speed trap I’ve ever heard of.

Coming into town from Bridgeport & Conway Summit, slow down when you see the Speed Limit 45 & 35 signs, sometimes CHP hangs around near the Mono Lake Visitor Center at the north end of town.
