Wardlow Ave

Long Beach, CaliforniaAug 01, 20001 Comments

In Long Beach, California on the eastbound portion of Wardlow Ave, just east of the 710 Freeway. This is a 4 lane, divided highway with no cross traffic for a good portion of the road. The traffic survey shows a prevailing speed of 45mph (and I think these measurements were taken at a different section of the road that has lower speeds than this section). The speed limit is 40 mph. The road goes up and over the LA River, and then comes down a long sweeping hill, again where there are no cross streets. It is here that the Officer hides behind a bush on a service road and radar’s you coming down the hill. This is a well-known "speed-trap", to those who live in Long Beach.
