Los Altos, California Speed Traps
el monte Road near 280 el monte onramp
A police officer who sits at the intersection between the 280/el monte onramp and foothill college. Basically under the onramp it is 40mph, and towards foothill its 30 mph. I’m not sure if he is looking for speeders or redlight runners or what. It looks like he has a radar gun. He is there every other day, I see him on the way home at around 3:00 pm
Edith Road near Foothill Expressway
Edith turns off of San Antonio and is a 25mph zone. Residents have complained and the Los Altos police are there daily hiding and ticketing people as they head through to Foothill Expressway.
Foothill Expressway, Northbound, between Homestead and Springer
Police Officers will back their cars into the bushes, and sit and wait for speeders
San Antonio
Police sit in the preschool parking lot or on Arbuelo waiting for people heading downhill (eastbound towards El Camino). I’d say you’re pretty much safe under 45 MPH as long as there are no construction or work crews.
