Marysville, California Speed Traps

As you’re driving over the 10th st Bridge (a.k.a. Colusa Ave/Highway 20) from Marysville to Yuba City there are motorcycle cops that sit on the median which lies between 10th st and the exit for Sutter St. You will not be able to see them until you get well past the crest of the bridge. I have seen them there anytime from Sunday mornings to weekday evenings. I have a radar/laser detector but it has rendered no warnings, that leads me to believe they are probably using laser. They usually stay there long enough to issue a few tickets and then they leave. I know this because I’ve gone back for a second pass to see if my radar/laser detector would give an alert.

On last Saturday PM there were 6 CHP units on both sides of the divided highway writing like fiends. This was on the stretch of CA 99 north of the I-5/99 split but before the 99/70 split. The CHP has announced that they will be using Marysville PD south of Marysville on CA 70 for maximum enforcement of "traffic regulations". So drivers beware.
