Speed limit reduces immediately as one exits 237 heading east on the calaveras off ramp from 237 at the 237/880/calaveras interchange. Motorcycle cop measures your off ramp exit speed from an adjoining ramp prior to the the first stop light.
State Highway 680 southbound near Scott Creek Rd. exit
CHP motorcycles will be near the center divider and the right hand shoulder.
They usually use hand held radar guns (Ka, 33.4 GHz) but sometimes use LIDAR as well.
Scott Creek became a big trap area.
Expect this at the end of each month, usually between the 27th and 31st.
Calaveras Boulevard near Hillview Drive
Officers on motorcycles alternate sitting in the Embassy Suites parking lot and the Mervyns parking lot with their radar guns.
Interstate 680 southbound near Monteague Expressway
CHP will be waiting on the left hand shoulder with a laser gun.
If you’re speeding between 5 AM and 9 AM and don’t have more than 1 passenger, you’ll get a very special "gift certificate" .
State Highway I-680 Southbound near Scott Creek Rd. exit Road
CHP will be hiding on the right hand shoulder, behind some large bushes. This trap doesn’t always uses radar. This occurs more often towards the end of the month. They will NOT cut your any breaks whatsoever.
