Monterey Park, California Speed Traps
Garfield Avenue near Graves to Riggin Avenue
I go to work every day on this route. It’s on Garfield between Graves and Riggin. There will be cops hidden along this route. I see people get tickets everyday here. Usually it’s a retired cop with car, but many time it’s other motorcycle cop.
Garfield Avenue near El Repetto Street
Both South and North bound traffic on Garfield Ave just before El Repetto going Southbound. Amongst the cars that park on the street daily from the apartments and condos. This area is usually heavily enforced during PM rush hour due to the fact that police is hiding between the cars. There isn’t that much during the morning rush but they do ten to hide near ROCA Street during that time. Both south and north are effected. Usually 2 patrol cars are present. When long weekends and holidays.. 2 or more police with minimun 2 motorbikes are within vicinity.
South Alhambra Avenue near East Graves Avenue
Common location to issue California stop tickets (e.g. "rolling stop sign"). Commonly enforced during the early morning and moderately during mid-day, sometimes enforcement is active during the afternoon as well (especially holidays or weekends). Speeding is enforced somewhat going southbound on S Alhambra Ave approaching E Graves Ave. Traffic cruiser or motorcycle will usually be parked facing south on the west side of S Alhambra Ave (toward E Graves Ave which is a three way stop).
Garvey Avenue near Atlantic Boulevard
There is a cop that sits in the back of the Cheveron station on the corner of Atlantic and Garvey. He sits there quite often and waits for anyone who is speeding, mostly at night or on weekends. BEWARE!
Garfield Avenue near Riggin Avenue
Southbound on Garfield Ave. between El Repetto and Riggin Ave. Usually during traffic hours. Because of the down hill slope.
