Red Light Violation NE Castro at RR track B4 Central

Mountain View, CaliforniaFeb 07, 20140 Comments

Traffic light on NE bound Castro downtown area just before the Railroad tracks (no cross street), which used to be blinking red light so car could stop, then proceed to Central Expressway (a few car lengths) traffic light, then turn right on red. Two officers standing and going up to driver’s windows, asking them to turn right at Castro. It really isn’t a detour R on Central due to a public safety issue, they are asking people to pull over on Central so can give Red Light Violation. At the light before the RR track, the only warning is a smallish sign with arrow: “Stop Here on Red”. Note further south on Central, there is a sign before the next traffic light: “Red Light Violation $366″ [sic]” Research: ticket may cost $490.

Stop sign on Maude and Clyde

Cop in a car with a camera and gun waiting to see who rolls at the stop sign.
He’s in a parking lot with his car positioned to take the video and trap the violators.

It’s a Stop trap at Calderon and Church.

They love to sit on Church east or west of Calderon and wait for folks making a "rolling stop" at the 4 way stop at Calderon and Church. It’s easy pick’ins because when there is only one vehicle, it almost never comes to a complete stop, look at the cops going thru that intersection and you’ll see just how they abuse the law too.
