Trancas Street near Bel Aire Shopping Center

Napa, CaliforniaJul 24, 20061 Comments

this is a no left turn trap. Heading east bound on trancas, if you turn left into the shoping center before blockbuster video instead of at the light you are cited because it is a quadruple yellow line. No left turn sign isnt really visable until after you make the turn, and the cop will just sit there by target telling people where to park, ive seen him pull over 4 cars at a time.

Hwy #121 at Begining of Silverado Trail

Napa, CaliforniaAug 16, 20020 Comments

35mph speed sign barely visible and very faded on pavement when begining to enter Silverado Trail after turning right off of Hwy #121. Bike cop sits in heavy shadows of many trees especially from 11am-12noon approximately 200 yds from this intersection. Next posted 35mph sign is approximately another mile from the bike cop. He naps you before you can see a posted speed sign. I have personally watched 3 more people receive tickets for exceeding the 35mph limit. Fridays are the cops best days ticketing unaware tourists visiting the Napa Wine Country. This road is normally clear of heavy traffic and a 45mph speed limit (WITH A POSTED VISIBLE SIGN WOULD BE THE CORRECT SOLUTION FOR THIS AREA.)

west bound, base of Napa River Bridge

The speed limit on this highway is 60, which is dub to begin with, it should be 65. No one does 60. When you crest over the bridge, and start the decline, CHP usually sits far off the shoulder on the right hand side, in complete darkness, with no parking lights on, and nabs people coming down the hill while they pick up speed. (its a steep decline) FYI, Napa County lets you do a Phase 2 traffic school
