Needles PD loves to set up hidden behind the westbound offramp to Broadway. Here they can watch both the freeway and the street. Their spot is very well hidden and odds are you won’t spot them untill their lights are on. This exit is about a mile beyond the Agricultural inspection station. I made the mistake of pulling out of the Arco station there at 2AM w/o my headlights on and did an illegal U-turn to get back onto the WB freeway (I saw the car, but it was totally unmarked in civilian colors, it just looked like a car parked in an empty lot). They pulled onto the freeway and came up to about 5 feet behind me and followed me to the next exit. I spotted them, did a textbook lane change, and tapped my brake lights when I came to a stop at the next exit. This, combined with the fact I was driving a minivan helped convinced them that I was not a drunk (but a tired out-of-stater) which was probably what they were looking for at 2AM on Saturday morning.
