When you are heading south on Marguerite towards PCH, you will encounter a stop sign halfway down the hill. Look to the left and more often than not there is a cop there begging you to do a "california roll"

Jamboree Street near Civic – Shell Station, Land Rover dealer, Cheveron Station-all right there on the East side Jamboree

Newport Beach, CaliforniaAug 19, 20040 Comments

A motorcycle cop sits on the center divide amounst the trees, bushes and once I saw him behind a utility box, which is still on the center divide, completely obscuring his bike, on Jamboree just north of Civic. He nails people coming down the hill ususally south bound on Jamboree between Ford & Civic as it is down hill. He is there usually mid-day when traffic is light and people haul down hill on the three lanes.

Newport Coast Drive near US Highway 73

Newport Beach, CaliforniaJul 05, 20040 Comments

i saw this trap about twice. between the long stretch on Newport Coast Dr. from the 73 freeway headed towards PCH. it is past pavillions and before pelican hill road, there is a cop on the right hand side by the gate. usually, you won’t be able to see him until you pass him and turn your head, which by then i’m assuming is already too late. be on your toes because he appears at random.
