Newport Coast Drive

Newport Coast, CaliforniaJan 01, 20020 Comments

Newport Coast was just annexed into near by Newport Beach in January 2002. NBPD now have jurisdiction over all roads in Newport Coast and they are out for $$$$$ anywhere along Newport Coast Drive. Most notably, hiding out behind a wall at the entrance to Sage Hill High School, under the 73 overpass and working both sides of Newport Coast Drive by the Pelican Hill Golf Course catching anyone trying to make their $275 tee-off time. NOTE: There is no speed limit sign coming up from the beginning of Newport Coast Drive from Bonita Canyon Drive!! It is suppose to be 60 MPH according to a sign coming down the other way. Hey, you do the math: 1-40 Million $ homes + Porsches + Ferraris + Lamborghinis + egos the size of Donald Brens and you’ve got yourself one hell of a steady income for the city of Newport Beach. Well, we’ve enjoyed for years being able to nail it up/down the hill, some guilty of doing a buck and a half, with only seeing an occasional CHP once in a great while. but, as always, all good(?) things must come to an end. At least look on the bight side – you’re grandparents will feel safer when they’re in town visiting.
