Oceanside, California Speed Traps
Melrose Drive near North Santa Fe Avenue
Going north on Melrose police on motorcyles and/or cars (multiple at times) shoot radar uphill from both sides of Melrose at the downhill to North Santa Fe; hard to see officers as they are in side roads or in tree shadows about 1/4 of a mile from the north bound downhill crest.
College Boulevard near Thunder Drive
Between Thunder Dr. and Roselle Ave. the speed limit drops from 45 to 40. Several days a week either in the morning or early afternoon there will be 2 motorcycle cops sitting between cars parked on the streets. They just loop back and forth in the 40MPH area ticketing people left and right.
College Boulevard near State Highway Highway 76
I dont know where they sit, but I’ve been nailed there twice in the last 6 months. It is somewhere between 76 and Old River Road on College.
Mesa Drive near Rancho Del Oro Drive
Motorcycle cop sits on ramp in retirement area entrance on Mesa drive between Rancho Del Oro and El Camino Real. Cop can radar your speed coming around the curve before you can see him.
Oceanside Boulevard near El Camino Real
When approaching the stop sign at the right-hand turn lane for Oceanside Blvd coming off of El Camino Real, officers will often sit parked at the Fire Station on the south-east corner or the intersection waiting for individuals to perform a rolling stop. Visual confirmation used, no radar necessary. Also, avoid speeding in general on Oceanside Blvd, enforcers constantly patrol the street, max speed 50.
