Ontario, California Speed Traps
Vineyard at Airport Rd
You must stop before the railroad crossing where Vineyard hits Airport Rd (Ontario Airport) at red lights and wait until the light turns green before crossing the tracks to make a right turn. Very deceiving because that just went into effect recently. There can be 10-20 cops waiting around the corner sometimes and they pull over about half of the vehicles for breaking that pseudo traffic law. Total trap!
Walnut Ave. at Walker Ave.
This is not so much a speed trap as it is a failure to stop at a stop sign trap. OPD sits either on the north or south side of Walker Ave. facing Walnut Ave. They are looking for motorists who do not stop before the crosswalk, do a rolling stop, known as a "California stop," or just blow thru the stop signs all together. This intersection is a 4-way stop. OPD also monitors the speed of vehicles going north on Walker as they come up to Walnut Ave. The speed limit on Walker is 25 mph. The speed limit on Walnut Ave. is 45 mph.
Walnut Ave. at Parco St.
This is not so much a speed trap as it is a failure to stop at a stop sign trap. OPD sits either on the north or south side of Parco facing Walnut Ave. They are looking for motorists who don’t stop behind the crosswalk, or do a rolling, "California stop," or just plain run the stop sign.
HWY 60 WEST AND HAVEN EXIT
As you head west on Hwy 60 and exit at Haven Ave, if you are to turn right at the exit to head north there is a motorcycle cop that sits on the southside of the exit waiting for vehicles that dont make a complete stop. The stoplight can be misleading because the right turn seems almost like a yield situation. The cops dont care and i just saw someone get busted there yesterday.
Archibald south of Chino
from morning to mid afternoon both motorcycle cops and patrol cars park in the egg ranch parking lot between two big tall trees just waiting for speeders. speed limit is 50.
