On the interstate 5 around Rd. 27 in Orland north of Willows it is common for CHP to sit either on the on ramps or on the side of the overpass out of view of oncoming traffic to catch speeders. I got one there once and I was only doing 72mph. They cut no slack, beware.
State Highway 99 W near Date Street
On Highway 99 coming southbound from Corning right before entering Orland there is a police vehicle that hides in the entrance of the new homes on your right hand side. He will usually act like if he is waiting to turn Left or Right and will have his blinker on but he is just waiting for someone to speed by. The speed limit drops rapidly from 35mph to 25mph exactly at that point. So as soon as you pass the Stony Creek Bridge coming from Corning in to Orland start dropping your speed.
