Oxford, California Speed Traps
Central Avenue between Santa Clara and Rose
CHP unit parks on SW side of Central among the eucalyptus trees that line that side of the road, has front and rear facing K-band to hit you in either direction. Almost impossible to spot, especially after dark, until you are on top of him, and then its too late. Diabolical.
Fifth Street between Oxnard Blvd and Rose Avenue
Posted Speed Limit is 35 mph between Oxnard Blvd and Rose Avenue. It is posted only 2 times as you go eastbound on Fifth and law enforcement wait on every little street with their radars, as nobody travels 35 mph because of poor posting of the speed limit.
101 freeway at Del Norte Blvd onramp both directions
Highway Patrol sits on the onramp targeting cars on the freeway as they go under the overpass. I’ve observed the speedtrap Northwest bound mostly at dusk or night and Southeast bound both morning and evening.
Vineyard exit from 101 north making a left toward Oxnard Blvd
As you exit the freeway and make a left the speed limit is 30 m.p.h. The speed limit sign is obscured by a traffic light and bus shelter and is placed 6 feet off the street on the grass. This gives the officer a perfect shot with his radar at any cars coming down the overpass.
