Westbound Palos Verdes Drive North near the golf course

Palos Verdes Estates, CaliforniaJan 11, 20110 Comments

This is where westbound goes from two lanes to 4 lanes. It is downhill toward the triangle with all of the flags.
Those of us who know that this down hill, 4 lane stretch, is often monitered by a motor cop with radar who sits in the gore pont looking East. People come off the hill and if they are behind someone doing the speedlimit (35), they will crank the wheel left and nail the throttle to pass the slow poke. I have personnaly witnessed this on dozens of occasions.

Y’all be careful out there

Via Del Monte and Paseo del Sol

Palos Verdes Estates, CaliforniaMar 19, 20100 Comments

Police car or motorcycle parks on Paseo del Sol just back enough so not to be seen until it’s too late for drivers to see. Speed limit is 25 mph, most people try and push 40 mph on the straight away after curves around La Venta.

Crenshaw Boulevard near Palos Verdes Drive

police car noses out of City Hall driveway onto Crenshaw Blvd approaching PV Drive, going west. I stopped at stoplight on the corner and police car came in behind me and when the light turned green he signaled me over and gave me a ticket for speeding. The limit is 45, he said I was going 60 and showed me a radar gun which he had to hit against the palm of his hand several times before he showed it to me. He did this two times in one month..every day I see him pull someone over either going up the hill or coming down. Early mornings before 7am.

Palos Verdes Drive West Drive near Paseo Lunada Road

Palos Verdes Estates, CaliforniaJan 07, 20080 Comments

PVE Cop Cars sit on the east side of Paseo Lunada, giving them a clear view of Palos Verdes Drive West (both North and South ways). You WILL NOT be able to see the police vehicle because the cops usually do not use the location until night has fallen. Radar/Laser detection is the only way to know if they are using the location at night or not. Beware of the rolling stop violation.
