Lakeville Street near East Court

Petaluma, CaliforniaDec 28, 20060 Comments

Petaluma PD uses radar on this section of Lakeville St. (HWY 116) near the Albertson’s shopping center. They sit on the south side of the road in one of the alleys/parking lots. Speed limit here is posted at 35 and 30 a few yards up the road (towards town) while traffic routinely moves at 45-55. Easy pickins unfortunately.

do not go fast past the hills after cinnabar school, they will be on the shoulder just over the ridge.

Jewett Road near Stony Point Road

Petaluma, CaliforniaFeb 07, 20060 Comments

An officer sits in a private driveway on Jewett Rd right by the stopsign at Stony Point. There is a straight stretch before the stop sign so you can easily get above the posted 35mph limit. There are not lots of driveways or houses near the road and the speed limits on roads nearby are 55, so this one catches even those of us who have been driving the road for years off guard! I thought they werent allowed to sit in private driveways?!

State Highway Lakeville near Browns Lane

Petaluma, CaliforniaDec 26, 20050 Comments

Petaluma City Police and California Highway Patrol both cover the short stretch of Lakeville Highway 116 from Frates Road to Stage Gulch Road. Its tempting to pick up speed during this stretch into or out of Petaluma but watch out! Enforcement is strong during rush hours and after dark when its harder to see them.

Ely Boulevard near Casa Grande High School

Petaluma, CaliforniaDec 08, 20050 Comments

DO NOT speed on Ely anytime during, before, or after school hours. Frequently officers sit and wait on one of the many side streets from Casa Grande blvd. all the way to Caulfield, preying on speeding students and parents, just waiting to fill their quotas for the month. I’ve recieved 2 of my own, be careful!
