Culver Boulevard at Pershing

Playa Del Rey, CaliforniaMay 28, 20100 Comments

The road goes from 50 mph to 30 mph as you get closer to the beach. There is a police officer who (on the weekends) sits right by the B&B at the stop light to catch anyone going more than 30mph. Pay particularly close attention on holiday weekends around this area day or night, they are always looking for violators.

Playa Del Rey, CaliforniaOct 06, 20070 Comments

Vista Del Mar Boulevard runs from the small town of Playa del Rey to Manhattan Beach. Imperial Boulevard is mid point of this 5 mile stretch of two lane (in each direction) undivided roadway. Motorcycle police sit in pairs between parked beach traffic cars with radar. One operates the radar gun while the other chases offender. From Manhattan Beach north to Imperial Highway on Vista del Mar is a downhill grade and prone to enforcement. Grand Avenue intersects Vista del Mar south of Imperial Highway and is entrance to the city of El Segundo. Both L.A.P.D. & El Segundo motorcycle police patrol this area.

Pershing Boulevard (long strech) behind the LAX Airport between Imperial and Manchester Boulevards has been a very high enforcement speed trap. The speed limit is 55 miles/hour but because of the no crossings or stop lights it is easy for the driver to speed to 65-70 miles/hour.
