Culver Boulevard near Vista Del Mar Lane

Playa Del Rey, CaliforniaMay 25, 20070 Comments

location: On Culver Blvd between Vista Del Mar Ln and Jefferson. There are officers in patrol vehicles and on motorcycles who patrol the area. Sometimes they hide between parked cars, get out of the vehicle (or off of the motorcycles), and use a hand-held radar gun. They will then stand in front of you after they clock you and motion for you to pull over. The posted speed limit is 30mph, but people often go faster (resulting in a few pedestrians getting hit and killed in the last year or so). The speed limit is not unreasonable, and enforcement of it appears to be for public safety.

Motorcycle patrol hides between cars on beach side as well as between cement barriers on land side. road runs along old neighborhood now gated and under landing path of LAX. gated streets offer small indentation for motorcycle patrol to hide very effectively.
