I’ve been noticing more motorcycyle cops on the corner of Fitzgerald Road and South Sunrise Blvd lately using handheld radar for South bound on Sunrise. Yesterday I even saw a pullover after I passed. Speed limit is 50 MPH in that section and is increasing in traffic now that the Sunrise road construction has opened another lane. Very easy to speed on this road and the CHP is on to it now.

Interstate 50 near Sunrise Boulevard

Rancho Cordova, CaliforniaApr 13, 20070 Comments

10AM to Noon. Random days. CHP on Highway 50, both directions from Sunrise Blvd to Ease Bidwell are using the airplane to pace cars and report down to CHP cars and CHP bikes parked either on the shoulder of the highway or on the shoulder of the onramps to collect revenue for speeders. The airplane reports which lane, car color and type and what speed paced. During this session of revenue collection, they utilize CHP Blue channel 42.340(air to car)/42.180 to communicate to the cars from the air and vice versa. (When the airplane is not being used, they utilize the Stalker Dual radar system on Ka band.)
