Rancho Palos Verdes, California Speed Traps

Downhill curves at the bottom (North) end of Silver Spur Rd., past the Church. Black and White parks in small turnout and uses radar gun aimed up the hill to get cars as they gain speed downhill around the curve. B&W makes a U-turn and chases the speeder downhill. (I have had 4 tickets over the past 30 years at this spot.)

A black – n – white is parked on the right side of the street right by the black horse going South-bound on Hawthorne and uses radar looking back from his car. Speed lmit is 45 but people go there about 55-60 and coming out from the turn you can’t see him because of the trees on devider.

The police officer sits at the top of the hill. When you are going north on Hawthorne Blvd (or up the hill) you really cannot see the police officer. He is not hiding, but you cannot see him because he is usually a small spec on top of the hill. He catches people going up the hill (you really cannot contest that kind of speeding) and he sits there typically in the mornings.

Sheriff car will be hiding on the North bound Hawthorne just South of PV Dr North as you come down the hill & catch speeders.
