Rancho Road near Airport Road
Enforcement is heavy between Shasta View and Airport Rd. Typically sitting near the church. Both motorcycle and patrolcar. This is a 40mph open stretch where it is easy to let your speed creep above the limit.
Riverside Avenue near Benton Dr./Court Street
A RPD car sits at the entrance to the Diestelhorst Bridge trail head parking lot and will get you coming over the Benton Dr bridge that parallels the Diestelhorst Bridge or coming North from Court Street. The posted speed limit is 30mph like the rest of Court Street. It’s easy to get caught going North bound due to the downhill slope. But generally you won’t see the RPD car until you’re right on them or you’re caught.
Bechelli Lane near Layton Road
Motorcycle or Car, will radar people in both directions. Usually in am up to mid day. Speed was reduced to 35mph a few years back – majority of people exceed this.
This site is less often than the other areas in Redding listed – esp Cypress St. Bridge
State Highway 273 near Railroad Overpass
As you go North on 273 just past the train overpass where it turns into South Market there is constant radar Sometimes 2 or 3 police vehicles at the same time The overpass serves as a sweet spot for radar since radar detectors cannot penetrate the concrete
State Route 273 near Buenaventura Avenue
Going North on 273, after you pass Buenaventura you go under the railroad underpass. RPD sits just after the underpass. It’s a 45 MPH zone.
