Placer Street near Magnolia Street

Redding, CaliforniaJun 10, 20040 Comments

Patrol cars will ususlly be doing radar during morning rush hour and lunch time rush hour.
I have been caught and ticketed at both locations.
Both of them are for traffic heading east on Placer.

The first is across from Benton Airport at the top of the small hill hiding behind small bushes. Very hard to spot. They shoot you as you come up the hill.

For the second place the officer sits on Magnolia? (the street after the first big incline of Placer street. It is very easy to unconsiouly let your car accel above the limit down this steeply graded hill. I don’t mind them enforcing this spot because I can see how it could be dangerous with its blind intersections and numerous driveways lining the street.

I-5, Southbound @ Wonderland Blvd.

Redding, CaliforniaSep 07, 20031 Comments

Having just navigated winding turns, encountering SLOW trucks and coming down a moderated grade, the I-5 opens up to straoght highway and an inclination to speed up. The CHP will sit at the Wonderland Blvd. on-ramp(southbound). They usually "clock" you with one patrolman, wheather it be ground vehicle or aircraft, then the patrolman on the ramp will stop you. CHP will also be traveling northbound and "trap" you with radar.

Hwy 273/ South Market e of the RR underpass

Redding, CaliforniaAug 06, 20020 Comments

Northbound – Cruiser or Motorbike cop sits in the dirt before the traffic light after you go under the RR overpass. Southbound – The Motorbike sometimes sits at the end of the center divider after you go under the RR overpass. Check the Monday local paper for "extra" enforcement areas.
