Ridgecrest, California Speed Traps
On North Norma St., especially the 200 block.
Traffic enforcement officers regularly pull over speeders in this 25mph zone, right in front of my house, in the 200 block of North Norma St.
So, either don’t speed on Norma St., or be luckier/smarter than James Bond. Enforcement on this stretch seems to go through periods of neglect, followed by major crackdowns. 75% of the speeders seem to be headed South.
Cero Coso Boulevard
The police sit near College Height Blvd. and Springer Rd. with the radar waiting for you because its a long stretch of road.
China Lake Boulevard near Ridgecrest Regional Hospital
China Lake Boulevard from Inyokern Road South to Bowman Road by Walmart is 35 MPH. It is a very dangerous stretch of road due to the many businesses, lack of traffic signals/stop signs from side streets and a suicide lane situation. The accident rate is high, so law enforcement is pretty strict.
Cero coso boulvevard Boulevard near State Highway 178 buisness
The police sit off on the side road from college hight blv and springer road with the radar waiting for you because its a long stretch of road.
US Highway 395 near Just past Highway 14 cutoff
On the stretch of 395 just south of the Highway 14 split there is a very very long stretch that’s flat and wide open. CHP will patrol this heavily on Fridays and Sundays. They will usually use 3 patrol cars. They mostly use constant KA radar but sometimes they put it in Instant On mode so watch out! I use my Valentine 1 radar detector and I’ve never had any problems. Slow down for long packs of cars/trucks heading toward you because CHP will hide behind the traffic as the last car where they will then hit you with radar as you pass them.
