Eastbound Pleasant Grove Blvd at Montgomery

Roseville, CaliforniaFeb 28, 20110 Comments

It’s never going to stop. Today, I’m driving along eastbound Pleasant Grove, where I know the "usual" traps are. The only difference today is, I see suspicious movement on the corner of Pleasant Grove and Montgomery. I’ve seen numerous motorcycle cops on this corner, but never cops standing on the corner in full uniform with a radar gun–minus the motorcycle! Combine this with the tag-team patrol car on the next street (Winslow), and yep, you guessed it, a modified speed trap is born! The standing officer on the corner is dressed in a dark blue uniform and blends in with the dark landscape of the corner, making him virtually impossible to see. You have been forewarned.

The hill on Sierra College between Douglas and Secret Ravine

Roseville, CaliforniaFeb 19, 20110 Comments

As you head up the hill on Sierra College after passing Bayside Church going towards Rocklin, a Motorcycle cop sits about halfway up the hill right at the entrance to those really big beautiful homes on the right hand side. You can’t really see him until it’s too late. He usually catches up to the person and pulls them over at Secret Ravine Rd. The speed limit is 50mph but many people gain momentum to make it up the hill, then BAM…..he gotcha. Drivers beware!!!!!!!

Cirby and Sunrise

Roseville, CaliforniaJan 29, 20110 Comments

Cops notably hang out here to award tickets for not only speeding, but any infraction that they can come up with, esp. after dark they are prowling for driver’s under the influence. Some Roseville police cars do not carry video equipment nor are there cameras at the intersections, so if a driver is stopped, there is no proof of what really happened. This is an area to avoid, esp. after dark. Should a driver have any kind of a negative driving record or are a teenager, they are fair game for having their vehicle ransacked.

Main Street

One of the favorite tricks of Roseville’s Finest is to park next to the old country store on Main Street and ticket you if you don’t come to a complete stop and count for AT LEAST 3 SECONDS! I was busted there a couple of years ago. The infraction was do minor it was pathetic, but the Roseville cop just smiled and got out the pad. It was almost as if he was enjoying it sticking it to me. Only place worse for miserable cops is Citrus Heights!

Roseville in general

Roseville, CaliforniaAug 28, 20100 Comments

Roseville in general seems to be the most diabolical in the Sacramento metro area when it comes to speed traps. Ever since establishing their own police department, it appears they are justifying its existence by gaining revenue from driving infractions, to the point of going overboard. Too bad it’s resources can’t me used more for more critical law enforcement needs. When driving anywhere through Roseville — if you must — stay under 5 mph over any speed limits, even if you feel like you are going to be run over. Otherwise, beware.
