21st St & 3rd Ave 4th Ave Aly

Sacramento, CaliforniaAug 12, 20090 Comments

Motorcycle officer often hangs out near light rail tracks at the intersection of 21st and 3rd Avenue (behind cleaners) in order to pop northbound traffic. There is a little hill right before the location, so people speed on 21st street and cannot see where the officer is parked.

Folsom Boulevard near 59th Street

1-2 Motorcycle cops will sometimes wait on the eastbound side of Folsom Blvd. on 54th or 53rd street just before the Autozone. Time of day varies, but I have most often someone there on weekends in the afternoon.

US Highway 50 near Sunrise Boulevard

Bike CHP usually hides between concrete barriers that seperate the east and westbound traffic. The bike cop usually patrols from sunrise up to the el dorado hills exits.

Stockton Boulevard near 14th Avenue

There is a slight hill at Parker Ave and Stockton Blvd. Sacramento PD will often have 2 motorcycle officers on the north side of the hill with a radar gun. The posted speed limit is 35 but most people do 40-45 because it is a 5 lane road. You will not see the police if you are coming over the hill northbound. Also, to add more to the trap, there is a cross walk just north of the crest of the hill. They will write you a ticket if you don’t stop for pedestrians. I have seen these officers write tickets from 10 am all the way until 6 pm in that area with a constant stream of cars pulled over.

Don Julio Boulevard near Antelope Road

There is a stop sign at Don Julio and La Tour Drive which many people "roll" through. Cops like to sit on La Tour Drive and cite people for this. Also, the speed limit on Don Julio during this particular stretch (between Antelope Rd and Elkhorn Blvd) is 35mph, which is quite low considering that the road is 4 lanes and no houses face Don Julio. I’m always sure to have my radar detector plugged in on this road as they issue quite a few speeding tickets there as well.
