CHP uses radar and sits in the shade (sometimes with other parked cars) making it difficult to see the CHP car.

Truxel Road near San Juan Road

If you live in the Natomas Area in Sacramento you will know this one. When coming from North Natomas or from I-80 going NB it is unposted that it is 45mph. 45mph starts in North Natomas and I assume it goes up and over the freeway. It then goes to 40mph right as cross the intersection of Truxel/San Juan (next to Natomas High School) right after you pass that you will see frequently SAC PD Motorcycles. They point their radars at that intersection so as you go over they get you. And then have no leniency. I was doing 45mph and crossed over and they gave me a ticket for 46 in a 40.

12th Street near North B Street

Sacramento, CaliforniaDec 11, 20070 Comments

Coming off of Highway 160 southbound, it merges into 12th Street N. If you hit the lights right, you can keep on going. However, once you come into the city, the speed limit goes from 55 mph to 35 in about one block. At the train overpass is where the cops will nab you.

(12th Street/Hwy 160)

North 12th Street near Sunbeam Avenue

Sacramento, CaliforniaDec 07, 20070 Comments

City motorcycle officers park behind a large commercial sign on the right side of N. 12th a quarter mile past Sunbeam. Traffic comming through here is transitioning from highway speeds (Hwy. 160) to street limits (35 mph) and provides constant revenue for the city. Usually multiple officers working the stretch between Sunbeam and North B Streets.

Just in front of the new school… This zone was a 40 mph with a flow of 50 MPH. They wait in the shadow of the big tree next to the crosswalk.
