Friars Rd & Cabrillo Fwy (Fwy 163)

San Diego, CaliforniaOct 26, 20090 Comments

As you climb the hill on Hwy 163 leaving the I-8 corridor valley, California Highway Patrol has a trap set on the hwy just past the crest of the hill. They know people will have their foot on the gas to climb the hill and will shoot over the crest going over the speed limit. Anyone who does not readjust their speed right away stands good chance of getting nailed. Also, the crest of the hill probably blocks radar until you are near the top.

Princess St & Torrey Pines Rd

Cop using a new kind of radar. He’s parked on a side street facing Torrey Pines Road, with his lights off. Very hard to see at night, and it’s downhill, and supposedly a 35 mph zone, although I didn’t see any signs.

Artesian Rd @ Camino Del Sur

San Diego, CaliforniaJun 24, 20090 Comments

Watches traffic coming around the curve heading south on Cam Del Sur. By the time you come around the curve its too late if you’re going over 55. (Posted limit drops from 55 to 50 here and he is waiting right next to the Speed Limit 50 sign at the intersection.)

Cam del Norte & Cam San Bernardo

San Diego, CaliforniaJun 24, 20090 Comments

Speed limit is 55 and there is a weird mix of drivers doing 40 and doing 75. 45ers are aggravating and you may get caught here in a pass especially when 2 of the 3 lanes are blocked by slow pokes. San Diego Sheriff has been seen here before, especially parked on the WB onramp from Cam San Bernardo. You should be slowing down here anyway because right around the curve is the first traffic signal in this long stretch between lights.

Cam del Norte & Bernardo Center Dr

Mostly seen SE bound just before intersection with Bernardo Center. San Diego PD has been pulling people over. It’s 55 through here so don’t go much past 65.
