Motorcycle and Police Cars are there twice a month at random times.

On 163N right before the Balboa exit there is a motorcycle cop with a laser gun that waits in a small paved area off the side of the freeway. Once the cop comes in to view, it’s too late. If you are merging on to the 163N from the 805N you will be a perfect target. He is there on a daily basis during the morning commute.

Heading south on 805 just after you cross over the 8 there are trees that come up between the over passes. Just past that the officer sits in his car with a laser gun, and you will not have enough time to slow down once you spot him. I usually see the police car there once or twice a week, most often in the afternoon.

Every week, there are 2 or 3 motorcycle cops hiding around a bend in the road somewhere, on the uphill climb.

Motorcycle cops park behind parked cars at the corner and use radar gun on motorists heading north towards la Jolla Village Drive. It’s a 30 mph zone, 25 if children are present, but the street is very wide and many motorists drive too fast.
