Bonita Ave. near the San Dimas City Hall. Officer likes to park his cruiser in the first driveway. This is where the speed limit drops from 40 mph to 25 mph. This is at night so be careful because there are no signs telling you to slow down.

Gladstone Street near Amelia Avenue

San Dimas Sheriff (motorcycle) will sit about halfway up the hill on the south side of Gladstone between Amelia and San Dimas Ave. He sits in the first turnout aiming his radar gun at eastbound traffic. You can’t see him until it’s too late. Watch out!

US Highway Arrow Highway near Valley Center Boulevard

There is usually a motorcycle cop that sits in the Stater Bros. driveway on the north side of Arrow Highway during the afternoons…I always see him zipping after a car probably about 4-6 times a day. Drive AT OR BELOW the speed limit if you don’t want to get caught!

Foothill Boulevard near San Dimas Avenue

San Dimas, CaliforniaMar 03, 20080 Comments

One or more LA County Sheriff’s Motor units will park on the south side of Foothill Blvd, west of San Dimas Avenue (usually west of Woodglen Drive)just past the crest of the hill as you pass Pinnacle Peak restaurant. They will have their laser guns out clocking the speed of cars as they crest the hill and come down, naturally building speed. The speed limit is 45 mph, but because cars are driving downhill, it is easy to reach speeds of 50 – 55 mph.

It should be noted this is a very wide portion of Foothill Blvd, with a bicycle lane on the westbound side of the street, and the Glendora Golf Course on the north side. There are no residences along the north side of Foothill Blvd in this stretch, and the residences on the south side are set back by a barrier of concrete and tall oleander bushes. Traffic usually is light to moderate. When the deputies stop cars, they usually catch up with them at about Amelia Avenue.
