19 th Avenue near Fulton Street

San Francisco, CaliforniaFeb 02, 20060 Comments

Cops sit out of vehicle on the edge of the road between Fulton and Lincoln on 19th Avenue, Northbound…Lidar is in use and cops radio ahead to 3-4 waiting motorcycle cops. Have seen it twice in one month (Jan ’06). If you see people standing on the side of the road here (there is no path) on the right, look out!

State Highway 101 North near North tower

San Francisco, CaliforniaJan 08, 20060 Comments

Just past the north tower of the GG bridge a CHP officer on a BICYCLE sits on the right hand side with a Lidar gun. He looks like a tourist on a bike. He zaps you and radios ahead to waiting patrol cars & motorcycles. Speed limit is 45 on the bridge & traffic fines are double. My Solo 2 went crazy before I saw him, however I wasn’t speeding. They had 3 other cars pulled over Saturday moring, 9:00 am.

State Highway 380 near State Highway 280

San Francisco, CaliforniaDec 31, 20050 Comments

Going Eastbound on 380, you’ll often see a car waiting in the construction area between the east and westbound directions, just where the traffic from 280N and 280S merge to 380E.

Mission Street

San Francisco, CaliforniaDec 29, 20050 Comments

A motorcycle cop parks hidden behind other parked cars between
Bosworth & Trumball and nails speeder with radar. Speed limit is 25mph. If you’re not public transportation "Muni" (they get away with speeding there) watchout and slowdown!

Geary Boulevard near Park Presidio Boulevard

San Francisco, CaliforniaDec 06, 20050 Comments

A pack of motorcyle cops hunt this area of Geary (at Park Presidio, and a block or two east and west) once a month to fill their quota. The last time I saw them was the first Tuesday of the month, but I don’t know if that’s always the case. They are looking for AM commuters who are speeding and/or trying to squeeze through a yellow light at the Geary/Park Presidio intersection.
