San Francisco, California Speed Traps

During the hours of 3pm -7pm the 2 far left lanes of the Bay Bridge toll plaza are carpool lanes (3 or more passengers only). During these hours a CHP motorcycle cop will usually sit in the shoulder after the toll plaza gate looking for vehicles going through the gate faster then 25mph OR looking vehicles cars who have only 1 or 2 passengers in them going through the carpool gate because they dont want to pay the $3. Beware! Everytime I pass this area around this time I either see the motorcycle cop there or see someone pulled over before the bridge incline.

A police on a Moterbike literally sits theres for hours on ends. I’ve seen him last from 4-9. Hes always hiding behind a bush and works with about 5-6 more bikes on other various streets. Ive seen about 4 cars getting speed tickets on the same streetat times.

Most cars speeding from approximately Broadway to this block are tagged and a motorcycle cop always comes out of Pacific, makes a right turn, and puts on the blinkers. The hill evens out and gives more incentive to speed. Keep it below 40.

On the high, big curve, south bound approach to 101, south bound from North Access Road at the San Bruno border(Just before the SF Airport exits). The CHP sets up and parks at the apex of this very high curve and watches the traffic on South Bound 101. Take caution when in this area. I’ve seen them waiting in the afternoon and especially around 11:00PM on Fridays and weekends. If you don’t, you’ll get pulled over at the Millbrae slow down exit. Actually, the area between Brisbane and Millbrae is a hot spot. The CHP turn around at south Millbrae and come back over the freeway to head north, back to Brisbane.

Not sure of the exact location, but I know it’s just before you reach the 19th Ave. SFSU exit going South-bound on the 280. People are always getting pulled over there. Good luck.
