Camden Avenue between Coleman and Meridian

San Jose, CaliforniaJun 04, 20030 Comments

As you go over the large hill (either direction), be prepared to see a trap on the downslope. If going south/east towards Meridian, the cars will be either waiting on the side streets to the right or even out on the street itself, but around the bend which cannot be seen through trees in the median. When going north/west towards Coleman, the trap is located out on Camden itself on the flat area after the first hill/drop but before the last one. In either case they are waiting for people to gradually pick up speed going downhill, because it is easy and common.

Chynoweth Ave at 87 underpass

San Jose, CaliforniaJun 04, 20030 Comments

As you approach 87 from either direction on Chynoweth, the road will take a sharp dip to go underneath. The speed limit in this area is posted as 35 only, a sudden change from the normal speed. People generally continue to go with traffic about 5+ the normal speed under the highway, but traps wait on the other side at the top of the hill where the road gets back to its normal elevation and ticket you for violating the underpass speed. This is compounded by Gunderson high school being on the far side going east, so the school zone may further reduce the speed limit.

Blossom Hill Rd going WEST right after the Blossom Hill entrance and exit to HWY 101

San Jose, CaliforniaMay 31, 20030 Comments

If you are exiting Blossom Hill from Hwy 101 South and making a right on Blossom Hill Rd or are coming from Silver Creek Valley Rd going west on Blossom Hill Rd, be wary for speed trap enforcement right after you pass Monterey Rd and going "downhill". The cops are on the right at the bottom of the "slope" before Beswick Rd. Speed limit is 40, but NOBODY ever drive that speed, especially since it’s a SLOPE. The most blatant Speed Trap I have ever seen!!!!

Branham Ave Between Naravez Ave and Peal Ave.

San Jose, CaliforniaFeb 01, 20030 Comments

As you come Down Branham ave going toward Pearl Ave from the Naravez side you will have to go up a Hill (over the light rail) As you come down the hill the officers sit at the base of the hill pointing the radar gun up the hill. they catch you coasting down the hill because they know you wont have time to slow to 35 mph. Watch out.
