San Jose, California Speed Traps
Tully Road and Ruby
If you are going down hill on Tully the speed limit is 35. Even though other surface streets are 40 to 45. You really have to ride those brakes hard as this is a very steep downhill.
Old Bayshore HW & Zanker Rd.
As Old Bayshore HW curves to become Zanker rd. about 1/4 block down motorcycle cop hiding in the bushes with Lidar gun, says limit is 40 when
at end of block sign posted is 45, go me fo going 50 mph.
Hiway 85 South & Leigh Ave Overpass
On 08/25/10 @ 12:25pm, CHP was parked under Leigh Ave overpass outside of car with Lidar. My detector picked him up a 1/4 mile away. I immediately braked down to 65mph so his gun could not get an accurate reading. He pulled me over anyways and claimed I was doing 89mph. When I asked to see the gun reading he refused and wrote me up anyway. I think he was pissed because I saw him first. CHP is parked there because Leigh Ave. overpass has shade and with Lidar he has to stand outside of the vehicle.
Lean Ave. at Calero Ave.
Driving down Lean from Blossomhill to Santa Teresa. After going over hwy 85, and start coming down the steep incline. They are waiting by the park on the right, in the shade, mostly around 4 to 6 pm. Speed limit is 30 which is less then other streets running in that direction.
Meridian Avenue @ Branham High School
Going down Meridian towards Branham Ave motorcycle cops sit stand behind an electrical box on the corner. The use LIDAR and catch speeders. Since it is a school it carries a hige fine. Weekdays only around 7:30am. They step out and wave you to pull over.
