There are 2 traps going into San Elijo Hills development. One is in the 45 mhp road and the other is right after the same road turns into 25 mph. The first one usually occurs in the empty lot that is going to be a production studio and the second in on the side road near all the contruction right after the Chevron.

Sheriff deputies either in car or motorcycle sit in center median aprox. 1/2 mile west of the intersection of rancho sante fe rd. (at the edge of the san marcos city limit) as you travel estbound/westbound on palomar airport road. Speed limit drops from 55mph to 45mph -tickets are issued for anything over 5mph posted limit…!

As you approach the community of San Elijo Hills eastbound, the police have set-up speed traps using the driveway of the old dump and just past the Chevron gas station (Construction Zone). The traps usually involves two police cars one that captures the speed of your vehicle and one to write the ticket.
