4th Street near Interstate 10 East

Santa Monica, CaliforniaFeb 12, 20080 Comments

Not a "speed trap," but there is a posted "No right turn" sign when you are on 4th Street getting on to the I-10 East. Several times a week, police officers are waiting around the corner to ticket those who turn right on a red light.

5th Avenue near Arizona Boulevard

I saw 4 motorcycle patrolmen and 2 squad cars in the general area within a 15 minute timespan. They patrol like locusts during midday by Third Street Promenade. I saw them give three tickets within 5 minutes. Don’t really know what the offenses were. Very bad near the Post Office (Arizona & 5th).

The Santa Monica PD enforces both directions, East and West. Be careful.

One or two motorcycle officers parked on the side streets between 26th and 7th Street ticketing westbound traffic.

Neilson Way near Hill Street

Santa Monica, CaliforniaJun 18, 20070 Comments

It’s usually a SMPD motorcycle cop in the parking lot at the Post Office on Neilson Way (by the Shores apartments). They usually park in the south lot too far back to be seen until it’s too late.
