Santa Rosa, California Speed Traps
US Highway 101 near Between Corby and Todd Avenues
Motorcycle Police Officer sitting on the SB side of hwy 101 on Sunday mornings. I believe laser was used.
Bennett Valley Road near Crane Canyon Road
In-Car KA-band POP mode radar active here.
Calistoga Road
Sections of Calistoga Rd are posted at 30 and 35 mph. Well below the average flow of traffic which runs at 40 to 50 mph. The worse section is a 1/2 mile moderate downhill (heading west) with a 35 mph limit.
Fountaingrove Road near Turnout
At the top of the Fountaingrove road hill (going towards 101), there is often a motorcycle cop in a turnout behind some brush. I am always looking for traps, so I was lucky to notice these guys most of the time, but they can be sneaky. On the way down, the hill (going away from highway 101), a motorcycle sometimes hides ON THE SIDEWALK! in the shade under some trees. Watch out.
Farmers Lane near US Highway 12
Motor officer sits on the shoulder of the overpass and I’ve seen him taking radar down on cars on Farmers Ln. He sits on the north end of the overpass, looking North. My guess is another motor officer hides out to the side and waits for a signal. Speed limit is 35 mph, if traffic allows, flow is commonly 40 mph or 45 mph. It’s a very sneaky spot, I went right under this guy coing from the side where you can see him before I got on the highway a minute later and didn’t notice him.
