Laurel Cyn Boulevard near Muholland Drive

Studio City, CaliforniaOct 03, 20070 Comments

Heading North up and over Laurel Canyon into Hollywood. At the top of LAurel Cyn Bl there is a right ONLY lane and one lane going straight over. The traffic backs up for cars going over so many cars go up the right turn only lane and cut over going thru the intersection. If you do this in the morning ruch you probably will encounter a Police officer that will wave you over to the line of cars that they are in the process of ticketing. I have seen as many as 5 cars off to the right getting ticketed. This is NOT a cheap ticket. THe cops are off their biles so you cannot see them until its WAY Too late. Better to turn right and make a u down the road. But they are on to that also ….

Police often wait around bend on southbound Laurel Canyon Blvd. just past signal at Dona Lola & Dona Pegita Drives. Once you have rounded the bend, it’s too late. Northbound Laurel Canyon can also be a trap as motorcycle officers will sit in driveways pointing radar at vehicles rounding the downhill bends south of Mullholland Drive.Be sure you are doing no more than 38mph! (It’s a 35 zone, but folks will often push 50+ there)

On Tujunga north of Ventura Blvd. and south of Moorpark, there is sometimes a motorcycle cop with a radar gun aiming at north bound traffic. Speed limit is 35, but a lot of people go much faster. Usually in the morning, although I have seen them in the mid-afternoon…

Laurel Canyon Blvd. between Ventura Blvd and Mullhulland

They clock both north and southbound traffic. The limit is 35, but can very safely be negotiated @ 45. There is a light @ Dona Pequita that will be red if you head northbound too fast, even if there is no one waiting.
