Sunland, California Speed Traps
Apperson & Oro Vista
For E/W traffic on Apperson, the police sit (usually) on the South side of Oro Vista headed North to try to "catch you" rolling through the Stop sign on Apperson. I was pulled over, told I had "run the Stop sign" (I had not) and the Officer wrote me up for supposedly going 15 MPH (!!!!!) through the Stop sign. Have you ever driven through a Stop sign at 15 MPH? I did not. That was ridiculous. But, I paid the ticket because I know that the L.A. Judges never believe any citizen and that the Officer would just hold to his story even though it is ridiculous. In fairness, he was a trainee and maybe didn’t make his quota that month.
Just beware of this intersection, as the Police will say whatever they have to say to make their tickets stick.
