Sunland, California Speed Traps
For E/W traffic on Apperson, the police sit (usually) on the South side of Oro Vista headed North to try to "catch you" rolling through the Stop sign on Apperson. I was pulled over, told I had "run the Stop sign" (I had not) and the Officer wrote me up for supposedly going 15 MPH (!!!!!) through the Stop sign. Have you ever driven through a Stop sign at 15 MPH? I did not. That was ridiculous. But, I paid the ticket because I know that the L.A. Judges never believe any citizen and that the Officer would just hold to his story even though it is ridiculous. In fairness, he was a trainee and maybe didn’t make his quota that month.
Just beware of this intersection, as the Police will say whatever they have to say to make their tickets stick.
Motorcycle hidden at this corner in drive times. Speeders and violations for incomplete stopping at Johanna/Sunland Bl and Johanna/Mustang Way.
LAPD squad car sits on Rancho Caballo Dr. and get drivers on the westbound of Sunland Blvd, mostly am-rush hour but seen also in afternoon rushhour. It’s hard to see him because he sits in an area that is a straight away coming from a curve.
Long and curvey with no stop signs and only two traffic lights. Motorcycle cops sit and wait at the many small streets intersecting Sunland Blvd. Usually seen during am and pm rush hour.
