Sunnyvale, California Speed Traps
Homestead Road various places between Lawrence and Sunnyvale Saratoga
The cops (usually on bikes) sit in various driveways usually hidden by trees and shadows (along the stretch near HP is very popular – both sides of the street in different driveways). I got a little blurb of KA from my Passport 8500 one time but they use "instant-on" and usually hold their fire until the see an obvious target – Dangerous!
Central Expressway between Wolf Rd and Mary Ave
There are a few overpasses on this section of expressway. The motorcycle cop like to hide under these overpasses. This road has some turns and tall bushes in the middle. You have to pay attention in order to spot him. The road has slight descent going north so it is a prefect trap.
I-280S at hwy85/Cupertino exit
Motorcycle cop underneath overpasss for hwy85. hides on a motorbike in the "shadows" on the inner lane (diamond/carpool lane). You cannot see him until you go over the hill and start to descend, by then its too late. He guns you as you cross the top of the hill.
Elko Road, off of Lawrence Expressway
Elko Road is a small 25-mph street — that happens to be the main artery for reaching the large UPS and FedEx delivery depots in the South Bay! So, this area sees tons of traffic, people dropping off and picking up packages, mostly people unfamiliar with the area. The cops love it, as the road looks like it’s at least a 40-mph street or higher, until you see that 25-mph sign.
