Torrance, California Speed Traps
Hawthorne Blvd. & Spencer Street U-Turn (New-Balance Store)
If you are going north bound, you cannot make a direct left hand turn into the New Balance Store, therefore you pass the store and have to complete a U-Turn from Hawthorne Blvd. & Spencer Street. If you do not turn your right hand signal on immediately as you make the U-turn going into the far right lane; a very nice police officer will give you a ticket when you park you car at the store. This has been going on for some time.
Madrona Ave between Torrance Blvd and W. Carson St.
motorcycle cops hide in the business entrance driveways catching speeders. Mostly during lunch and evening rush hours.
Ticket (not speed) PCH Left Turn Lane Into Best Buy.
Best Buy at Hawthorne and PCH in Torrance California. The main left turn lane is now a very lucrative ticket trap.
Cannot make a left or U turn from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mon – Saturday. Watch out. This is the actual left turn lane into the parking lot for the store and there is a officer who just camps there, writing tickets all day long.
Walnut Ave from Lomita Blvd to 235th
The posted speed in 35, and 25 in one place. Police will sit on the long straight stretch like a parked car and get you with radar.
hawthorne blvd north of 182nd st on west side of hawthorne.
i know theres alot of different postings for the intersection of hawthorne and 182nd street, but ive seen three different jurisdictions located at the exact same spot. in the ralphs parking lot ive noticed torrance pd, redondo pd, and chp officers several different times and all of them where motorcycle units! usually in the early mornings, and on weekends as well. i do my shopping early! once there was torrance chopping it up with chp. thats two jurisdictions at once! dont mess around in torrance anywhere! there everywhere!
