South bound J Street offramp from HWY 99

Tulare, CaliforniaAug 02, 20110 Comments

CHP usually behind the large oak tree on east side of J Street in front of the cemetary. The speed limit drops from 70mph to 55mph on J Street in a few hundred feet and they’ll nail you if you don’t intentionally slow down. Coasting to 55 will have you blow by way over the speed limit.

Southbound Mooney Blvd JNO Prosperity Ave

Tulare, CaliforniaJan 30, 20110 Comments

Mooney Blvd between Tulare and Visalia is posted 60mph, owing it being flat, straight, and mostly open. But a motorcycle officer has been known to regularly patrol mostly the southbound traffic as you come into Tulare approaching Prosperity Ave. There is a winery alongside the road and some small bushes that make it nearly impossible to see him. This trap *may* no longer be active, owing to the fact that it was discovered to take place within both line of sight and walking distance to where a bank robbery took place recently. So the police *may* have backed off a bit. He may have simply stationed himself further north. So watch your speed regardless.
