Union City, California Speed Traps
Jean Dr & Union City Blvd
UCPD moto’s sits behind parked cars and building driveways to cover from being spotted by drivers on Union City Blvd. They are out in force at this location between 1pm and 5pm. Watch your speeds along this long road. They can spot you from a mile with their radar guns.
7th Street near Mission Boulevard
Officer on a motorcycle parks in the driveway of the Union City Maintenance facility. He tags drivers coming from Mission Blvd. Its very easy to speed around the turn from Mission headed down 7th street. Radar detectors are useless in this case since they are very ineffective with LIDAR.
Mission Boulevard near Holly Leaf Lane
An officer on a motorcycle parks on the sidewalk pointing his laser radar towards south bound traffic late at night. I spoke to him one night and he told me that he usually gives you 10 to 12 MPH leeway. I see the officer around ten at night a couple times a month. Radar detectors are useless in this case since they are very ineffective with LIDAR.
