Van Nuys, California Speed Traps
There are a few of them. I was a victim this morning East-bound on Burbank Blvd. While one motorcycle officer was writing a ticket, the patrol car that was just sitting near by lasering cars, pulled me over.
Motorcycle with laser waiting as speed limit changes from 45 to 35 at 405. He is east of 405 about 3 blocks in divider from homes where you cannot turn right. Enforcement is quite often during the day.
The speed limit is changing from 65 to 60 to see how reckless drivers go around 20 or 30 over. Catch people doing 80-90.
Can be a motorcycle cop or B&W, but it’s a definitely radar trap on both sides. They park about halfway between Victory and Vanowen to allow people to get up some speed. I live nearby and I see officers in this location many times a month, usually for several days in a row. They seem to alternate between here and further south near the bus way (across from Pep Boys and Costco).
There’s a small side street across from the airport facilities where a motorcycle cop will wait about one or twice a month.
