Ventura, California Speed Traps
Loma Vista Road near Crestwood Avenue
CHP on bike sits with his radar, anywhere between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Always has american flag on the back of the bike. Has been spotted behind bushes/tree’s on the south sidewalk of the street.
US Highway 101 near Padre Juan Canyon Road
CHP officer sits on the right shoulder concealed by the apex of the curve in US Highway 101 North at Padre Juan Canyon Road.
US Highway 33 near Ventura Road
CHP will sit on the Shell Road on-ramp or on the La Canada on-ramp. After dark they hide just before or after the Casitas Vista bridge. As you come through the small town of Casitas Springs they sit under the large tree on the right at Nye Road.
Wells Drive at Darling Road
Ventura P.D. motor cop sits on bike on Darling by the golf course and zaps southbound traffic on Wells with his K-band. Posted speed is 45, but most traffic goes 50-55. Enforcement can be any time, but most common during rush hours. And yesterday I observed a CHP unit at the same location except parked a little further back among the trees that line the golf course. Don’t know what he was looking for, too far back for a good radar shot, maybe he was just waiting for someone to blow the light? He gave up and left after a while. This whole section of Wells from Telegraph through Saticoy is a prime target for V.P.D., V.C.S.D., and C.H.P.
