Olive Ave. between Melrose and Vista Transit center

Vista, CaliforniaApr 13, 20100 Comments

This street is an individed two-lane road in an industrial area. The side streets lead into residential areas. The speed limit is 25MPH and everyone regularly drives 40 along this street. The sheriff deputies sit at Plymouth St. and catch those driving west from the Vista Transit Center and they come around the bend.

Busy main street in the morning also has an elementary school on west side. Motorcycle police use speed guns to monitor traffic coming north past school. Drivers must go 25 miles per hour while students are walking to school at 7:30 – 8:15. There is a small, easily missed sign (no blinking lights). Police usually have 2 or 3 cars pulled over at any given time, writing out tickets. They park in the appliance center right before Townsite Drive. Too many drivers have passed me in the slow lane only to get pulled over.

The Cops park on either side of the street in business driveways, specially next to the Discount Tires. At night even more cops, sometimes 2 or 3 officers, will be together pulling people over. Speed is 40mph don’t go over it in this area.
